Georgia Blasting Regulations
- Explosives licenses are administered by the State Fire Marshal of Georgia. The license is for operators who transport, manufacture, store or use explosives. Once obtained, the license must be shown readily to an inspector when asked.
- A responsible person must show documented evidence before operating the explosives. The blasting operator cannot be a convicted felon and must pass a drug screening test.
- A blasting report is filed for the blasting event. The report consists of a pre-blast report, drilling log and post-blast record. The company's name, proximity of the nearest structure and company license number are all included within the report.
