Cost Control

• When an employee is trying to relocate, the company may offer a program designed to control the cost of the relocation. The program provides the employee with a number of options that involve what benefits the employee will receive during the relocation. The options will have a limit in the amount of available funds, and the employee may choose what additional benefits that are available with that particular amount.
  
  

Limits

• Some companies might control the selling of the employee's home while providing them with the valued funds. If the company is not in full control of the home sale, they might still have requirements for the employee, including requirements concerning the price for which the home will be sold. If they want the home sold quickly, then they may ask the employee to keep the selling price within a certain limit while allowing that limit to at least reach the home valued amount. The company may also place a limit on how long the relocating employee will receive payment while they are in the process of relocating.
  
  

Expenses

• During an employee's relocation, the company may pay for certain expenses associated with the relocation. Expenses that involve the selling of the employees home may be covered by the company, including expenses associated with leasing out the home. The companies may also help pay the expenses that are associated with purchasing a new home and transferring the employee's personal items from the home being sold to the home that they have purchased.
  
  

Extra Expenses

• It is possible that the home may need improvement items, such as a replacement for something that is broken. If this is the case, then the relocation package offered by the employee's company may include payment for the items that will improve the home. Trips to the new location to search for a home may also be funded by the company.
