How to Grommet Curtains
- 1). Fold the curtain in the lengthwise and find the exact middle at the top of the curtain. Mark with a pin. Lay out your curtain on the work surface.
- 2). Measure down from the top edge of the curtain 2 inches. Use a pencil and a straightedge to draw a line at the 2-inch mark all the way across the curtain to use as a guide for placing the grommet marks. Draw with the pencil on the back of the curtain so you do not ruin the look of the front of the curtain fabric.
- 3). Measure from the center to the outer edge every 3 inches. Mark with the marker every 3 inches for grommet placement.
- 4). Set up a grommet kit on top of the cutting board. Place the male part of the grommet on the holder and place the curtain on top, lining it up with one of the marks.
- 5). Place the female part of the grommet on top of the curtain at the mark. Use a mallet to pound the two parts of the grommet together.
- 6). Repeat the last step to add the remainder of the grommets in the marked places on the curtain.
- 7). Cut out the fabric at the center of the grommets using scissors.
