Teach Yourself Guitar, 5 Great Tips to Start Out Right

This is an important undertaking and you don't want to get started and then because you hadn't taken into account what was involved and planned for it, you gave up before you really got going.
I know what that is like, been there,done that and it is not a nice feeling.
So now I'm going to share with you my top 5 tips for success.
First Tip:The Music,You know what type of music you like but you may not be able to start on that type of music.
So prepare yourself for whatever music genre you have to learn to later progress to what you want to learn.
Second Tip: Lessons Decide what type of lessons.
Would they be from books, CDs, DVDs from the library, from a book store, music store? Computer program stores and online websites are another option for guitar lesson software programs.
Then there are online membership sites that have guitar tuition and someone online who can guide you.
Third Tip: The Guitar.
What type of guitar would you need?Could you go out and buy that beautiful 12 string acoustic guitar that you fell in love with, mind you it was being played by an expert with magical fingers.
Or how about asking a friend who has been learning for a couple of years? Then there was the musical instrument store, they are always helpful and seem to know such a lot about guitars.
Then again, there is the internet, you can research the types of guitars so at least you would know if you were on the right track when you started getting the answers to questions you asked the experts.
Fourth Tip: Learn.
Learn as much about the guitar as possible.
How to maintain and keep the instrument in tip top condition.
How to change the strings.
What type of string is the best quality.
What to clean it with, how to clean it.
Where to keep it, how to store it.
Where to source out the best information.
Learn to set a budget and learn how to stay within your budget.
Fifth Tip:Be Prepared.
Preparation is key.
Start out right.
Get the right information at the outset.
It is so much harder to try to correct a bad habit.
Don't get into bad habits as far as teaching yourself to play the guitar.
Start out as you mean to continue, the right way.
If you were being taught by a tutor, face to face, you would expect them to be prepared for your lesson when you arrived.
Have the same expectations of yourself, be prepared for each and every lesson you are going to give yourself.
That's right, you are your own tutor so treat yourself with the respect you deserve, be professional and be prepared to teach yourself guitar.
