- 1). Remove from the lawn mower the wheel that has the flat tire. Most wheels are bolted to the axle or attached to the axle with a cotter pin.
- 2). Lay the wheel flat on the ground.
- 3). Kneel on the sidewalls on the tire.
- 4). Insert the flathead screwdriver between the rim and the tire. Push out on the screwdriver handle to pry the tire off the rim.
- 5). Pry around the circumference of the rim to completely remove the tire from the rim.You now can patch the tire and remount it to the wheel.
