How to Replace the Marines Flag

1). Unfold the flag, with one individual on each side holding it. Start with the folded, triangular flag and gradually unfold the triangular folds.
2). Unfold the rectangular folds until the flag is entirely open.
3). Hook the top eyelet of the flag onto the appropriate attachment on the flagpole. One individual should do this while the other holds the other side of the flag open.
4). Hook the bottom eyelet of the flag onto the appropriate attachment on the flagpole.
5). Hoist the flag to the top of the flagpole. Both individuals should do this together, with their hands alternating pulls. It should rise smoothly and consistently.
6). Tie the bottom of the cord or rope to the hook at the bottom of the flag pole to allow the flag to remain hoisted at the top.
