A young actor who was certainly taken from the world far too soon, Heath Ledger trivia will reveal that this actor was much more than the sum of his tragedy, and that in his brief time he managed to make his mark firmly on the film world.
Born in 1979, Ledger was Australian, and began his career in that country before moving to the United States to pursue greater success in Hollywood.
His first roles in Australia included work in the mini series "Clowning around" and the TV series "Sweat".
His first appearance in a film was "Blackrock".
A Heath Ledger quiz will show that he emerged as a teen idol and sex symbol in the United States after appearing in the film "10 Things I Hate About You" opposite of Julia Stiles.
This movie was a modern day spin on the classic Shakespearean story Taming of the Shrew, and would make Ledger a sought after commodity in Hollywood.
One of Ledger's greatest gifts through, was to intersperse roles that he wanted to do that he felt challenged him as an actor, such as his role in "Monster's Ball", along with those that he was pressured to do due to his icon status such as A Knights Tale and Casanova, although he never participated in work that he did not feel he would be proud of.
Although Monster's Ball had brought Ledger a certain amount of respect as an actor, it was "Brokeback Mountain" which truly made critics stand up and begin to take an interest in Heath Ledger trivia.
When his performance in this film was nominated for an Academy Award, critics were comparing his performance to the best work done by Brando and Penn, and people the world over realized that they might be looking at the greatest actor of his generation.
His greatest role would come in a film that was released after his death, and a Heath Ledger quiz is likely to mention the fact that his turn as the Joker in "The Dark Knight" is generally regarded as one of the performances of the decade.
He won a posthumous Academy Award for the work he did in that film, as well as numerous other accolades and awards.
He worked in one further film which he was still shooting when he passed away, and that film, "The Imaginarium of Dr.
Parnassus" will be released later this year.
