- 1). Mix water and carpet shampoo in a bucket according to the directions on your favorite brand of carpet shampoo.
- 2). Add the mixture to the carpet shampoo machine. Different machines have different containers for the mixture; ensure you add the mixture to the proper container.
- 3). Turn on the machine and shampoo your carpets in straight lines across your carpet. Continue this until the area you are cleaning is finished.
- 4). Discard the dirty water in your toilet or outside.
