If you have gained weight during the summer season, you are not alone.
Millions of Americans find themselves indulging and overeating during the summer and now face the facts of having to figure out how they can best lose this newly found weight now that summer is over.
The main reason that we put on extra pounds during the summer is that we are socializing more than usual and it seems that every event is built around food.
During the summer there are barbeques, beach parties, pool parties, parties to celebrate the beginning of summer, the fourth of July, the end of summer, and so on.
We are also asked to bring food to many of these events and that seems to add to the situation.
Here are some tips on how to lose the weight you have gained over the summer and maybe drop some more pounds as well.
  • Look through your refrigerator and pantry.
    If there are foods that you brought into your home to prepare or serve at a party, throw them away or donate them to a food bank if they are unopened.
  • Find a favorite pair of pants or shorts and a blouse or shirt than no longer fit you well because you have gained weight.
    Hang them up where you will see them on a daily basis.
    Visualize yourself wearing these close comfortably at a point not too far in the future.
  • Start walking every morning and every evening.
    If you can get moving for thirty minutes, twice a day, you will begin to notice a difference in how you look and feel very quickly.
    This may happen in the first two weeks.
  • Think about what you are eating.
    If you became accustomed to eating ice cream or potato chips during the summer, just stop eating these things so that you will get back to eating foods that are more healthy and nutritious for your body.
By making this kind of effort with your eating and exercising it will not be long before you will be back to your former self, and probably look and feel even better than you did before.
