Launch Camtasia. It will open up the editor window. Before you begin recording, open the media files you will be using in your book trailer. Drag your stills, video and audio files to the clip bin for easy access while building your video. Camtasia also provides a library of media files that you may incorporate into your book trailer for free. - 3). Drag your video and audio files from the clip bin or Camtasia library into the timeline to begin building your book trailer from left to right. A new track will be added automatically for each new media introduced.
- 4). For recording a screencast from your computer desktop, click on the "Record the Screen" button. You can select to record the entire screen or select part of the screen to record. Use the hot key F9 or press the "Record" button to begin the screencast. Camtasia will record what is on the screen as well as the audio recorded into the microphone. To disable the audio recording, click the "Audio" button and deselect. The hot key F10 can be used to stop recording, or click "Stop Recording." The screen recording will be placed in the "Clip Bin" and can be dragged to the timeline for editing.
- 1). To edit video and audio in the timeline, drag clips to the desired location. Use the split button "<|>" to splice video and audio clips. Use the "Cut" button (scissor icon) to remove selected clips from the timeline.
- 2). The "Undo" button reverses the last command.
- 3). Clean up video and add effects such as callouts, transitions and titles for a polished book trailer.
