Corel Photo-Paint is a comprehensive photo editing software tool. It allows you to do a number of different tasks to fix and manipulate photographs. Using the program effectively, however, requires a little bit of skill and knowledge. Knowing some tips on how to use Corel Photo-Paint can help you get the most out of the software so you end up with a result you are happy with and photos you can print or frame with pride. - Corel's air brush tool is a paint tool that is very useful for shading. Use it to blend colors together and to make some portions darker to enhance certain areas of an image. Be sure to adjust its settings first. You can modify the settings after selecting the air brush and selecting the view/rollups/tool settings in the drop down box. Experiment with the settings to find the right shading option that bests highlights the detail in your photographs.
- The brightness tool is used for effects. Use it to manipulate the darkness and brightness of a photo. You can also use it to frame your images in order to make them more vibrant and lifelike. Again, practice with the settings. The minus sign will darken an image while the absence of the minus sign will brighten the image.
- If you want to remove a background and give emphasis to a certain subject, you can use Corel Photo-Paint to do just that. There is a possibility that Corel might identify the whole picture as the background, however, so to make sure you don't lose the picture, right-click the image's thumbnail in the docker and select "create from background." This gives you a rendering of your image and you can then cut out the background in this new rendering. Once you have the copied image, use the Transparent Color Selection Tool to pick out the background image or color you want to remove. This tool will highlight all of the items in the background that are that color or in that color family. After checking to make sure the tool has selected everything you want to delete, click on "apply" to eliminate the background.
- The Masking tool gives you the convenience of removing unwanted portions of your images. Say you have an image of the seashore but towards the right portion lies an eyesore, such as the foot of a tourist. You can trace the tourist's foot using the masking tool, then select "delete" to permanently remove that portion of the picture. The masking tool can also be used to move or duplicate objects in the photos.
