How to Enable Autofill in a Google Toolbar
- 1). Download and install Google toolbar from the Google toolbar home page. The download will detect your browser type and serve you the correct software. Agree to the terms and conditions then click "Install Now." You might need to restart your browser, or it could restart automatically.
- 2). Create an Autofill profile by clicking on the wrench icon in the toolbar. In the window that appears, click on the "Autofill" tab and select "Add New Profile."
- 3). Enter the information you'd like to save in your browser. The available fields include full name, phone number, email address, primary physical address and alternate address.
- 4). Enter credit card information separately at the bottom of the screen prompt. Click "Add/Edit Credit Card" and put in your number, expiration, name on the card and security code.
- 5). Save your changes and close the Autofill dialog. Whenever you access a site that requires form data, check the Autofill icon in the toolbar. It looks like a notepad and pencil. If it is grayed out, you cannot use the function at that particular website. If it is not grayed out, click it and the form data will fill in automatically. Sites that don't conform to the field specifications set by the Internet Engineering Task Force will not communicate correctly with Autofill.
