As a bucket can be filled with water trickling drop by drop into it, similarly, even the slightest action on your part can bring a huge positive change on the environment.
It is sad but true that man has already abused the environment a lot.
The silver lining in the cloud is that man has realized his mistakes and his working towards conserving the environment.
Going green has to be initiated right form your homes.
If each house takes little steps to maintain the environment, then our future generations will definitely be blessed with green, clean, and healthy habitat.
Going green does not mean that you have to spend a lot of money on it.
It can be done in the most inexpensive way.
Commercial and government organization are there to spend huge sums on conservation.
As responsible citizens of this planet it is our duty to contribute to this noble mission in whatever way we can.
The first step towards going green would be to maintain a small garden.
You can start growing your own flowers.
You can also have a kitchen garden.
This will not only keep the soil fertile but will also increase the level of oxygen in the air.
It will cut the level of pollution.
Imagine if all households maintain small gardens then how green and beautiful our place of abode will become.
It will not only make our planet healthier but will also make it more appealing to look at.
Bills and papers require felling of trees.
You can ask for e-bills in order to save these trees.
You should also develop the habit of using emails.
The recycled paper should be put to use more often.
Another environmental hazard is the use of plastic.
This is a slow poison for our planet.
The plastics are very durable in nature.
They degrade very slowly thus littering the environment in an uncontrolled manner.
It is not possible to burn plastic as it releases toxic gases when burnt.
This gas is again harmful for the environment.
Petroleum forms the raw material for plastic and with the reserves of petroleum depleting it is no longer appropriate to use it to manufacture plastic.
If people in general reject plastic, then it would indeed be a great contribution in saving the earth and helping it to remain green.
These are very small steps towards making our environment green but their effects are huge.
