This is the quickest and healthiest way to lose weight safely. It is the simplest proven method that will allow you to lose weight.

Weight loss comes from a negative calorie deficit. That means you need to burn more calories than you take in. First you need to know how many calories you are eating every day. There is a very simple formula you can use that is a pretty good estimate of how many calories you are consuming. Body type, physical condition and age are all factors but this is a great way to start.

If you are a man who does not exercise:
Your weight times 15 is about how many calories you are taking in.

If you are a man who exercises:
Your weight times 13 is about how many calories you are taking in.

If you are a woman who does not exercise:
Your present weight times 12 is about how many calories you are taking in

If you are a woman who exercises:
Your present weight time 10 is about how many calories you are taking in.

To lose 1 pound of fat you need to eat 3500 calories less than you are eating now. If you were to spread those calories out over a week you would need to eat 500 calories a day. This is the magic number. Any doctor, nutritionist or weigh loss guru will tell you this.

Here is an example if you are an inactive woman who weighs 165 pounds.

165 times 12 equal 1980. That means you eating about 1980 calories a day.
To lose 1 pound in a week you need to eat 1480 calories every day for seven days.

This may be easier than you think. A bagel has about 300 calories. A slice of cheese pizza has about 250.

There is no getting around the fact that you need to know how many calories you are eating each day. The most successful diet programs do this. Weight Watchers has the points system and Jenny Craig has prepackaged food. It's still the same concept. You need to burn more calories than you are taking in.

Purchase a calorie counter book if you don't already have one and write down how many calorie you are eating every day. Try eating about 500 calories a day less than you normally would and see if this doesn't work.

If you feel 500 calories is too much try eating 250 less calories everyday. You will eventually lose the weight.

One of the reasons diets fail is that we try to do too much. We have high hopes and big ambitions but hunger is a strong driving force. Sometimes it's best to do this gradually to give your body time to adjust to the calorie change.

Crash diets don't work in the long run. At first you may lose weight but once your body will quickly see that is not getting the calories it needs. Your metabolism will slow and your body will start storing fat. If you slowly reduce the calories you take in your body will never notice this. It will expect food that you are giving it and as you lose body weight you will need fewer calories.

You can enjoy fast healthy weight loss by eating all the foods you like.
Just eat less of them.
