Guitar Lessons - How to Play Fast the Easy Way
But, there is always something that holds them back.
They can't do that because they think that it is not easy to do and they're having a hard time doing it.
The fact is it is not, there are techniques that makes it easy to play fast.
Playing fast doesn't mean you have to study sweep picking arpeggios.
Many guitarist hate that technique, me too.
I hate that because it doesn't sounds good to my ear.
Don't worry we're not going to do that.
We do it the easy way.
Our main goal here is to make a great music.
Play smarter rather than harder.
This is our golden rule here.
Play on a single string scale.
Use the first string high E note.
You can pick any scale of your favorite if you want.
Playing on a single string makes it the easiest to play fast because you can see the notes of the scale in a single line.
Remember, start slowly and then gradually increase your speed.
1.
Alternate Pick the string four times per note using the chromatic scale shown below e-8-8-8-8--7-7-7-7--6-6-6-6--5-5-5-5-- B-- G-- D-- A-- E-- 2.
Use an open string as a variation e-0-0-8-8-0-0-7-7-0-0-6-6-0-0-5-5-- B-- G-- D-- A-- E-- e-0-0-0-8-0-0-0-7-0-0-0-6-0-0-0-5-~-- B-- G-- D-- A-- E-- 3.
Use an open string scale.
For example, an A minor scale triplet run on high E string.
(A minor scale = A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A) e-0-1-3-0-3-5-0-5-6-0-6-8-0-8-10-0-10-12-~-- B-- G-- D-- A-- E-- 4.
Use hammer-on and pull-off.
Pick only the first note then hammer-on and pull-off the remaining notes on the string.
Below is a D Aeolian scale in high E string D-E-F-G-A-A#-B-C-D.
e-5h6h7--7p6p5-6h8h10--10p8p6-8h10h12--12p10p8-~- B-- G-- D-- A-- E-- 5.
Now combined them with tapping.
Tap the first note then hammer-on and pull-off the remaining notes.
e- T12--0h1h3-T12--0h3h5-T12--0h5h6-T12--0h6h8-T12--0h8h10-T13--0h10h12-~- B- G- D- A- E- e-T12--5h6h7--7p6p5-T12--6h8h10--T10h8h6-T13--8h10h12--T12h10h8-~- B-- G-- D-- A-- E-- After you become comfortable with any of this technique try to do it with the remaining string.
These lessons are only example that gives you great idea that will tremendously add to your musical dictionary.
