Actors

• If you search for a specific film or television show on IMDB, you will see images of the actors who starred in it. If you click on the actor's name, you will be taken to page dedicated to him. On this page, you will see a blown up image of the actor as well as a link to all of his credits. You can also search for an actor directly on IMDB, which will direct you to his personal page. Here you will find numerous images associated with the actor, including what films and TV shows he has been in, as well as publicity shots. For example, Johnny Depp has 612 photos of himself on his personal IMDB page in a slide-show format. The purpose of these images is to further promote the actor, and highlight his career.
  
  

Films

• If you search for a specific film on IMDB -- such as Rambo (2008) -- an image of the poster art will appear in the upper left corner of the page. If you click on this image, you are taken to another page that allows you to see other promotional posters, art work and stills from the film. Browse through these images one at a time, or activate the slide show which will automatically scroll through them. To the right of the page, you will see a "Related Gallery" section, which contains more images associated with the film. The purpose of these images is to promote the film.
  
  

At the Bottom

• Towards the bottom of an IMDB page, you will find the "Recommendations" heading. Here you will find images related to the film or TV show you have looked up that IMDB feels you would enjoy based on your browsing history. For example, the "Rambo" IMDB page features images of "Rambo: First Blood Part II," "The Specialist," "The Expendables," "Behind Enemy Lines" and "Tears of the Sun." These films either star Sylvester Stallone or involve some type of war action. At the bottom of the page, you will find images of recently viewed pages. The Homepage

• When you visit the IMDB homepage, you will see images on top of the page related to current events in the world of entertainment. These images link to trailers of upcoming films, photos of recent award shows and more. There are also images related to current television shows and Hollywood news, as well as photos of celebrities who were born on whatever day you happen to be surfing the page. All of these images are designed to promote the most recent events in the entertainment world.
