How to Repair a PSP LCD
- 1). Unplug the PSP from any power source.
- 2). Disconnect the battery, memory card and any accessories.
- 3). Remove the seven case screws from the device. There are three along the outer edge and four on the back. Two of them are behind a sticker that reads "Warranty Voided if Seal is Damaged."
- 4). Lift the faceplate up and off the device.
- 5). Remove the buttons if they didn't come out with the faceplate. The bottom button bar will lift off at a 90-degree angle.
- 6). Pry back the clips that hold the screen in place using a flat-head screwdriver. Lift up the metal bracket that covers the flex connector.
- 7). Lift the screen up and off, again at a 90-degree angle. Take care not to damage the flex connector as you slide the screen out.
- 8). Slide the new flex connector gently but firmly into place.
- 9). Attach the clips to the screen, then lay the bracket back down.
