    • Developed by VU Games and Starbreeze, "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay" is a first-person shooter set in a world that is based on the film of the same name. The game was originally released for the Xbox game console on June 1, 2004, though it was later released for the PC on December 8, 2004, as "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay--The Director's Cut." As you might expect with a game of this nature, it can be quite challenging at times. Fortunately, there are plenty of cheats to help you out.

    PC-Specific Cheats

    • The PC version of "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay--The Director's Cut" makes cheating very simple. Press "Ctrl," "Alt," and "Tilde" on your keyboard at any time during game play to access the cheat console. Type "cmd godmode" to enable god mode, "cmd giveall" for all weapons and items, and "unlock all" to unlock all of the extra features included in the director's cut version of the game.

    Xbox-Specific Cheats

    • There are several hints you can use to make the Xbox version of "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay" just a little bit easier. Whenever you are low on health, look for the bugs that are flying around and press "X" near them. You'll snatch the bug out of midair and promptly eat it, restoring a tiny bit of health in the meantime.

    Dealing With Riot Guards

    • Defeating the riot guards in either version of "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay" can be quite difficult when trying to take them head-on. Instead, use your shotgun to blast the black panels on their back to take them out quicker. Another trick to defeating not only riot guards, but any guard in general is to make sure to turn on every single valve you find. These valves slowly release gas into the air, and any guards that happen to wander nearby will pass out in short order.

    Finding Smoke Packs

    • Throughout the levels of "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay" are hidden 59 smoke packs. Collecting them will unlock concept artwork, full-motion video trailers and more. Some of them can be rather tricky to find, however; take for example the very first smoke pack. This requires you to kill the first guard, hide the body, and then walk behind the nearby crates. Here you'll need to crouch, walk forward, go left, and then right. Jump off the ledge there to find a small amount of money and the first smoke pack to your collection.
