How to Repair a Kenmore Vacuum With a Burnt Smell
- 1). Unplug your Kenmore vacuum and turn it so that the bottom where the spin brush is located is facing up.
- 2). Remove the four screws holding the plastic cover in place, and put them in a safe spot.
- 3). Pry the plastic cover free gently.
- 4). Look for the belt positioned on either or both sides of the spin brush. If you have two belts, you'll want to replace them both at the same time.
- 5). Remove the screws holding the axle in place and carefully pull the axle loose.
- 6). Pull the old belt from the axle and loop the new belt or belts into position.
- 7). Reattach the axle and screw the plastic cover back in place.
