Shut off the circuit breakers to the chandeliers and clean them thoroughly with a gentle glass cleaner for extra sparkle. Set up the ladder for higher chandeliers and have a friend hold it firmly to ensure your stability. Carefully wipe down any crystal pendants and use a dry cloth to clean remaining brass or iron portions of the chandelier.

Cut your ribbon into 5-foot lengths to weave through the arms at the lower portion of the chandelier. Set aside remaining lengths for tying at the top of the chandelier. Cut a straight edge (not at an angle) for convenient securing with an inconspicuous staple later. Depending on the size of the fixture, you'll need four to five segments of ribbon for each chandelier. Use three segments of ribbon for smaller chandeliers.

    • 3). Use remaining lengths of ribbons for tying bows around the neck of the chandelier at the top. Tie two ribbons around each neck, allowing the streamers to flow down the length of the neck, falling just short of the chandelier's arms.

    • 4). Select a 5-foot length of ribbon to weave through the arms of the chandelier. Staple one end of the ribbon together in a small loop around any arm of the chandelier to form a starting point. You may now work the remaining length of ribbon through the chandelier's arms. Repeat this process with four to five more ribbons for a substantial appearance.

    • 5). Experiment with different loop lengths between the arms of the chandelier to provide visual interest as well as dimension for the ribbons. Add extra ribbon for a more solid appearance, and use less ribbon for a simpler theme. Tier the ribbon loops (like a Christmas tree garland) for chandeliers with multiple levels of arms. Staple the final end of each ribbon to form a small, secure loop around each arm of the chandelier.
