How to Create Metallic Text in Photoshop
- 1). Open Photoshop. Select "File" from the main menu and choose "New." In the dialog that appears, choose whether you want to use pixels or inches. Pixels work best for images on the Internet, while inches are best for printing. Then choose the width and height you want and click "OK."
- 2). Select the "Text" tool from the toolbar. Go to the tool options under the top menu and change the font to a wide style, like "Impact." Set the font to your desired size and change the color to a light gray.
- 3). Use the text tool to type in your words or message. Then use the "Move" tool to drag the text to exactly the place you want it on the canvas.
- 4). Click on the "FX" button below the "Layers" palette. From the options that appear, choose "Bevel and Emboss." In the dialog that appears, go with the default settings and click "OK."
- 5). Select "Filter" from the menu and choose "Render." From the options choose "Lighting Effects." In the dialog that appears, adjust the lighting angle and focus in the preview to produce a shiny, metallic effect. Click "OK."
- 6). Select "File" and click "Save As." In the dialog that appears, name your file and save it.
