Volunteer EMT Training
- In Module 1, you are introduced to the basics of becoming a volunteer EMT, including personal stress management, responsibility, ethics, human body function and anatomy and how to take vital signs and move patients. Module 2 discusses how to deal with your patient's airway.
- Module 3 teaches you to assess situations and get a focused patient history and how to perform a detailed physical exam. In Module 4, you learn basic medication knowledge and how to deal with emergencies ranging from cardiovascular ailments to overdosing.
- In Module 5, you learn to deal with patient trauma such as bleeding and shock. In Module 6, you learn to help infants and children.
- In Module 7, you are taught to operate an ambulance. Module 8 is an elective course on airways that provides advanced instruction on how to perform an orotracheal intubation.
