How Do I Troubleshoot an Electric Baseboard Heater with Low Heat Output?
- 1). Locate the control knob that is on the front or the side of the heater.
- 2). Verify the current heat setting or temperature setting for the heater. Adjust the setting if the temperature or heat is low.
- 3). Examine the heater to see if the air grille and fins look dirty. Dirt and dust will prevent the heater from providing the necessary amount of heat.
- 1). Turn the "Power" switch to the "Off" setting and then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- 2). Clean the air grille and fins with a vacuum cleaner. Use a brush attachment, with the vacuum, to clean the heater.
- 3). Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then turn the unit back on.
