    • 1). Purchase a copy of a game from the Unreal Tournament series if you have not already done so. Make sure this copy includes UnrealEd, the Unreal Tournament level-editing program. This comes included with most Unreal Tournament software, but not all of it.

    • 2). Install the Unreal Tournament software if you have not already done so. To install it, simply insert the first installation disc and wait for the Installation Wizard to auto-launch, then follow the on-screen prompts.

    • 3). Launch UnrealEd from the Start Menu or the desktop icon.

    • 4). Click the "Sound Browser" icon in the master dock at the top of the window. This icon looks like a speaker.

    • 5). Browse the list of .uax files in the window. If you need to hear a file to confirm that it's the one you're looking for, click it to highlight it, then click the "Play" button. When you find a file you want to convert, click it to highlight it, then click the "Extract" button.

    • 6). Select a destination directory for the extracted file when prompted to do so, then click the "Save" button. When you do this, UnrealEd will automatically extract the file to your selected directory as a .wav file.
