Go to the NOOKbook store, either through your Nook device or via a computer-based web browser for better navigation, and search for "0.00" to bring up all the free Nook ebooks available through Barnes & Noble. You can sort the results by category or enter additional search terms if you're looking for specific books.
- 2). Click "Download" next to each free title you wish to read. Once you sync your Nook with your Barnes & Noble account, the titles will appear in the library on your ereader tablet.
- 3). Use the LendMe feature to borrow Nook ebooks for free from friends and contacts who have made their titles available for borrowing. Typically, you'll be able to read a book for two weeks before it's returned to its owner. Only one person can access it at a time.
- 4). Spend up to an hour a day reading books for free when connected to the Wi-Fi at any Barnes & Noble store. You'll have access to many Barnes & Nobles ebooks and can read whole books for free if you visit a store regularly.
- 5). Read free ebooks in pdf form on your Nook. You can download many no-cost ebooks online through a variety of sources, including niche blogs and websites that offer ebooks as a gift for signing up to their email lists. Fiction authors often give away short stories and whole novels to build interest in their work. Look for authors who write in genres you like and see what they have available. Transfer these pdfs to your Nook via the memory card or USB cord.
- 6). Borrow free ebooks from the public library system. Since Nook supports many book formats, you can use it to read ebooks borrowed from your local library. Once you've checked out the books, download them to your computer and transfer them over to your Nook or Nook Color.
