A Continuing Sabbath For God"s People
He said in Matthew 11:28-30 come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and my burden is light.
He said come to Him he who labor; that means to use and rely on our own ability.
He said to learn of Him; that mean that we should know Him and know what He has already done for us.
If we would do that, then He will give us rest for our soul.
He also said that His yoke is easy and His burden is light; no sweat.
Do you think that Jesus is still working? No He is not, He is seated at the right hand of God and God said to Him, sit here until I make your enemies your footstool.
Jesus is at rest and we should be at rest also.
Hebrews 3:18-19 read and to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest but to those who did not obey.
So we see that they could not enter in because of their unbelief.
Hebrews 4:1 therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.
So when we are relying upon our own strength and ability, which is unbelief.
We are thinking and acting like Jesus is not able to work things out for us so we have to do it ourselves.
The way to live in this continue Sabbath is to stop relying on our own self and allow Jesus to fulfill His will in our life; it would be far better than anything that we can do on our own.
There is no situation or circumstance that has occurred in our life that God was not aware of; in fact He knew it was coming before we did but He has already worked it out for us; we just need to get to the place where He placed the answer.
I had a situation with both my grandsons at school.
It troubled me so I left home to get some fresh air; at least that was what I thought.
I saw someone in a store and we began to talk.
She was having some difficulties and she said that she met a lady who had a problem worst than hers so she stopped feeling sorry for herself and started to thank the Lord.
She said there is always someone with a problem that is worst than ours; when she left, I thought about what she said and began to talk to the Lord, I said to Him that He has already worked out this situation concerning my grandsons and I was not going to worry about it or try to fix it myself.
I am in His continuing Sabbath and I refused to be moved by issues of life.
