Voluntary Reduced Worktime (V Time)
Voluntary reduced worktime is an agreement between an employer and employee that allows the employee to cut back on hours for a given period of time.
The employee receives a comparable decrease in salary and benefits, but he or she may return to their full-time position at the end of the given period.
Workers may choose to reduce their work hours in order to spend more time with their children, develop another skill or career focus, or simply experience a change in lifestyle.
