How to Clean Equipment Parts
- 1). Wipe down the equipment parts with a soft rag to remove any loose dirt, dust, or oil.
- 2). Rinse metallic parts off in warm, soapy water. Dry thoroughly with a rag.
- 3). Apply a non-chloride cleaner to a rag. Chlorides can be corrosive to metals. Alkaline-based cleaners generally work well. Gently rub the cleaner into the parts and then wipe off with a dry area of the rag. If there are polishing marks on the metal, rub in the same direction.
- 4). Apply oil to any parts as needed once they have dried from the cleaning agents.
