God-Given Obligation

Ginger Stache: Yodit was the very first girl who came off the street and into the home and she is just a bundle of energy and enthusiasm, and that's the girl that we met. The girl that they brought out of the streets a few months ago was a very different girl.

Pat Bradley: Her story was she was orphaned I think when she was around eight or nine years old. She was sent from the countryside to live with an aunt and uncle who were very cruel and abusive to her, so when she became 16 she said "I couldn't live with that any longer; it was too horrible," so she left the house, didn't know what to do, met some girls who were working as prostitutes and before long that's what Yodit was doing. One night they brought me to a room where one of the girls lived who used to be a prostitute; she's an older woman. We were in the room and we're sitting there talking, just talking, asking questions about the future, and it was like God zeroed in on Yodit. We didn't know that Yodit was a stranger; we thought they were all friends. One thing led to another and Yodit got saved that night, she got baptized that night, so she was our first one but now she's something else! She's full of life.

Ginger Stache: She's coming out of her shell and she's blossoming. She then went to her best friend on the streets, told her about Christ, brought her out, and now they're both there in the home together and it's so exciting to see them together and laughing. Yodit wants to be a fashion designer. She's a beautiful girl and she'll have a great future. It's not gonna stop there. That's gonna touch them for all eternity and spread out to reach everybody else they come in contact with, too.

Joyce Meyer Ministries: I'm not gonna sit by and do nothing while people starve to death and kids' lives are ruined. I'm breathing. I'm walking around. There's not another thing I need. I'm gonna spend my life, my energy, my time, my money to relieve human suffering because there's nothing more important than that! Jesus died so people could be free and we are now free! Those of us in this place tonight, we know him, we are free, and it is our God-given obligation to get over our sweet little selves and begin to do something for somebody else!
