    • 1). Open the Excel workbook that has the pivot table you want to edit.

    • 2). Right-click anywhere in the body of the pivot table and select "Pivot Table Options" from the menu that opens.

    • 3). Select the "Layout and Format" tab when the "Options" box opens.

    • 4). Look to the "Format" section and uncheck the box next to "For empty cells show." This will remove the blank spaces from pivot tables.

    • 5). Click "OK" and review your pivot table. You will see that the blank spaces no longer show up.
