Understanding Tumble Dryers

Unknown to most people is the fact that tumble dryers are very energy efficient.
Even if you're searching for a more energy efficient dryer like a tumble dryer, you'll still have to find the right type for you.
Which dryer you choose largely depends on how environmentally friendly it is and how much the price is along with how it will fit into your lifestyle.
The electric vented tumble dryers basically take the warm and damp air from the dryer drum and vent it through a hose.
They use a lot less electricity and are cheaper than most other models.
Keep in mind that these models need to be near a window so the vent can release the air outside.
A condenser dryer can be installed anywhere because it just takes the warm, damp air from the drum to a removable reservoir.
With this type, steam isn't a problem, however the reservoir has to be occasionally removed and emptied.
The cheapest type to run is the gas vented dryer.
They use gas as a heat source to dry and vent damp air through a hose.
Just like the vented air models, gas dryers need to be near a window so damp air can be vented out.
If you don't have very much space then you should try a compact tumble dryer.
However, these dryers are much slower than other dryers and less energy efficient.
One of the smartest choices for more energy efficiency is choosing a large dryer which will take less time to dry clothing.
This is also helpful for a washer dryer combination.
If your dryer is as large as your washer then loads of laundry will be able to be completed in even cycles.
To take care of a tumble dryer remember to clear the lint after each load so it won't get blocked off.
For better energy use always fill it to the maximum load every time and keep the dryer in a well ventilated area so it won't overheat.
