- 1). Cut a demo. You must have a demo CD of your best songs ready to be given to the record label executives and talent representatives.
- 2). Contact the A&R representative of Diddy's record label. You can do this by calling the record label and asking for an email address or a phone number where the representative can be reached. The A&R person will help you get in touch with Diddy.
- 3). Write a professional letter introducing yourself and asking politely to set up a meeting. The letter should be addressed to Diddy, but will most likely be delivered to him only after the A&R representatives have determined that you have what it takes to possibly be signed as an act.
- 4). Give your demo to the A&R representative. Either mail it or deliver it personally after you have already contacted them and told them that you will be sending them your demo, otherwise it will most likely get lost in the shuffle since they receive hundreds of demos daily.
- 5). Meet with Diddy, and be prepared to perform for him. This will most likely happen after the executives and representatives have decided that you have enough talent to be taken to the next level. You will be asked to perform live, so make sure you are ready to do that in front of Diddy and other executives.
