The Home as a Form of Expression

'A mans home is his castle' seems to be more and more appropriate in these times where the only place we can really sit down and kick back is at home.
From the moment you get in, you want your space to be how you like it, whether that be a lounge with the latest flat screen tv and music system laid out in a minimalist fashion or a cozy haven with full drapes and huge cushioned couches.
We all have a need to express who we are in more than what we wear or how we act.
With television programs informing us of the latest style and trends of what to buy, what not to.
It becomes easier to see what you want but not always easy to find the product displayed.
The garden can either become an external room where you can have the tranquility of water, and birdsong, or a country garden with greenhouse and vegetable patch.

When you are going through the first stages of kitchen layout it is always first worth scrutinising what the body of the unit is going to be made out of.
A significant number of mass-produced carcasses are made from chipboard, plywood or the ubiquitous mdf with a normal melamine coating.
If money can stretch, strong wood carcasses are preferable, but as is most peoples perspective, why pay out on something you are only likely to see when you open the units door.
Once you receive the body make sure that the hinges and rolling equipment are up to the work.
There is nothing worse than a loose hinge, or a catching, draw runner.
