    • 1). Decide how much you want to risk at the table and stick to it. In the heat of the moment it's very easy to pull more money out of your wallet or purse so make yourself not gamble more than you are willing to risk.

    • 2). Place your money on the felt. One of the croupiers will collect your money and give you an equal amount of casino chips in exchange. You will use the chips to place your bets.

    • 3). To bet, place your chip(s) in the proper betting circle. If you are not sure what each bet is, ask the croupiers for information. For some bets you can't reach, you will have to drop the chip(s) and ask the croupiers to place the bets for you.

    • 4). Do not bet the inside numbers. These have big payoffs, but they give bad odds.

    • 5). Bet pass line with odds. This bet is the best on the craps table with an edge less than 1 percent for the house. Place your bet on the pass line. If the shooter (the dice thrower) rolls 7 or 11, you win automatically. If he rolls 2, 3 or 12, you lose automatically. If he rolls any other number, that is then the point. To win the bet, you now need him to roll that number again before rolling a 7. To place odds on that happening, place an additional bet behind your pass line bet. If the shooter rolls the number again, you are paid at the proper odds. For example, the odds of rolling a 10 again is 2-to-1 against and you would be paid $10 for a $5 bet.

    • 6). Color up your chips if you want to leave. Put your chips on the felt and the croupiers will give you larger denomination chips to make transport easier. Take these to the cashier's cage to exchange for cash.
