How to Add Drawings With Text to a Word Document
- 1). Open Microsoft Word by double-clicking the Word shortcut icon on your desktop, or by clicking "Start," pointing to "Programs" or "All Programs" and then finding Word in your Programs list. Open a new, blank document or an existing document to which you want to add a watermark.
- 2). Look for the "Drawing" toolbar, which will usually be located at the bottom of your document. If you do not see it, go to "View" on the toolbar, point to "Toolbars" and click on "Drawing." On the "Drawing" toolbar, click "AutoShapes." Point to the type of shape you want to add and click on the shape you want to add to your document.
- 3). Click on your document, in the area you wish to add your AutoShape. While holding down the mouse button, drag your shape into place in the size that you want it. When you let go of the mouse, your shape will appear.
- 4). Click on your shape so that it is selected. You will know it is selected if it has a green handle and several small white circles around the perimeter. Right-click the shape once it is selected and click on "Add Text." A text box will appear in your shape.
- 5). Enter the text you want to add to your shape. You can format the text just as you would in a text box or document, changing the font style, size and color, changing the alignment, and so on. When you have added and edited your text, click outside of the picture.
