How to Ping a Server in DOS
- 1). Click "Start" on your desktop.
- 2). Click "Run" in the menu that appears. (Skip this step if you are using Windows Vista or later.)
- 3). Type "CMD" in the box that appears and press "Enter" to open a command prompt.
- 1). Type "Ping" in the DOS (or Command Prompt) line that appears. Do not press anything.
- 2). Type the IP address of the site you want to ping.
- 3). Press enter to have DOS ping the server. The ping then displays information such as IP address and response time.
