How to Build a Yagi Scanner Antenna
- 1). Cut your electrical wire into three lengths that match the lengths of the three 2-by-4s.
- 2). Cut a groove down the length of the 4-inch side of each 2-by-4 just deep enough to fit the wiring. Fit the wires in the grooves and use glue to hold them in place.
- 3). Place the 162 cm 2-by-4 over the end of the 2-by-2 and center it over the end of the 2-by-2 so that it makes a "T" shape. Drill a hole through the 2-by-4 and into the end of the 2-by-2. Use a screw or bolt to secure the two pieces.
- 4). Place the 146 cm 2-by-4 over the other end of the 2-by-2 and center it the same way you did in Step 3. Drill a hole through the 2-by-4 and into the 2-by-2. Use a bolt or screw to secure the pieces.
- 5). Center the 160 cm 2-by-4 over the middle of the 2-by-2 and drill a hole through the two pieces. Use a bolt or screw to secure the pieces of wood.
- 6). Drill a hole in the center of the 2-by-2 wide enough to accommodate the end of a metal rod and insert a metal rod in the hole. Use glue to hold it in place. This acts as your antenna stand.
