Dish Network Receiver Problem
- Dish Network is a satellite system. Because the receiver gets the signal from the satellite, many of the problems can be directly related to the dish outside and the quality of the signal it receives. For the most part, a normal rainy day shouldn't cause any problems, but if your signal is weak due to your location and how your dish is pointed at the satellite, your reception may be affected more easily. Strong storms with a lot of rain and wind will likely have some effect on the image your receiver puts out. Anything that interferes with the dish, even if it is not related to weather, can affect how your receiver gets the picture. Be sure your dish is clear of any weather debris, including snow or twigs.
- Your receiver is basically a computer, and you can troubleshoot it like a computer. If you are having a problem that just won't go away, shut the receiver off using the power button and turn it back on. This is not a reboot. To reboot the receiver you should unplug it for a few minutes and then plug it back in again. This will solve many common issues. Another reset procedure is as follows: Press and hold the receiver power button until only the green TV1 indicator is lit; let go of the power button.
- For problems that persist, it will be much simpler and quicker to call Dish Network directly and have them guide you through the troubleshooting process.
