- 1). Place the two tallest speakers on the left and right sides of the TV with the rectangular center speaker above or below the TV. The rear speakers on floor stands go behind the main seating area, and the subwoofer can be placed on the floor in an out-of-the-way spot near a wall.
- 2). Match the color-coded plugs on the speaker cables to the color on the back of each speaker and the Philips receiver. Left to right, the color connections on the receiver are red, white, green, gray, blue and purple for the five speakers and subwoofer.
- 3). Connect either a six-sided HDMI cable to the HDMI output jack on the Philips receiver or the red, green and blue plugs on an RGB video cable to the matching outputs on the receiver, then hook up the other end to the corresponding video input jack on the back of the TV. HDMI provides a high-quality picture if the TV is equipped with an HDMI input. Otherwise, use the RGB cable.
- 4). Plug in the power cords for the Philips receiver, the subwoofer and TV into electrical outlets.
