- 1). Restart your Zune player. Rebooting the device is the solution to many of the most common Zune errors. To restart your device, press and hold the On/Off button until the Zune restarts.
- 2). Disconnect your Zune player from your computer, then restart the computer and the Zune. Once both have rebooted, try connecting the player again.
- 3). Test a different USB port on your computer by disconnecting the Zune and connecting it to another USB port. It is not recommended to use the Zune with a USB hub or similar device.
- 4). Reformat your Zune to the factory defaults to repair corrupt files or firmware. Restart your Zune then press and hold "Media" until the unit displays "Connect Zune to PC." This will erase your entire media library on the Zune player, but the files will still be backed up on your PC.
