    • 1). Open Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW or Corel Paint, and click on "File" at the top right side of the page. Scroll down to "Open," and click on it. Find the image from Poser that needs a scar, and click on it. Click "Open" in the bottom right corner, and the image opens.

    • 2). Click on "Layer," and "New." Name the layer scar, and click "OK." The new layer appears.

    • 3). Find the pencil tool on the left side, and make sure the color is set to dark reddish brown. If it isn't, double click on the color palette, and choose the color. Click "OK." Draw a line where the scar should be, and draw some lines across the scar. It should look like a plus sign that has a ton of lines going across from the bottom to the top.

    • 4). Locate the eraser tool on the left side and click it. Erase the edges of the scar shape until it is the desired size. Make sure the ends are narrower than the center.

    • 5). Go down to the bottom of the tool tray on the left side and find the burn icon. It looks like a fist. Click on it and move the cursor to the scar. Use the burn tool for deepening the color. As you click on the mouse, the area of the scar the cursor is over deepens in color. It changes to black if you keep clicking over the colored area.

    • 6). Click on the tool that looks like a pointing finger. This is the smudge tool. Click on the mouse and push into the scar or pull away from the scar until the shape looks right.

    • 7). Right click on the smudge tool and choose the teardrop shaped blur tool. Click on the mouse and pull the cursor over the scar, working it back and forth until the scar blends into the skin color.

    • 8). Add puckered-looking skin by adding highlights. Right click on the burn icon, and choose the lollipop-shaped icon. This is the dodge tool. Add in a few light areas on the edges of the scar by clicking the mouse over the areas that need puckers.

    • 9). Run the blur tool back over the light areas after you are done. It gives the scar a more natural look.
