God Uses Russia for a New Middle East Direction

Russia ended Middle East talks by preventing the Quartet (the E.
U.
, Russia, the U.
N.
, and the U.
S.
) from making a key demand.
As a result, talks with the Quartet broke up, with no progress made on restarting the Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations.
The demand called for the Palestinians to recognize the right of Israel to exist.
But, of course, the Palestinians will never do that.
In fact, the Palestinian charter calls for the elimination of the Jewish state, so how can they recognize Israel's right to exist? While observers could see the end of the Israel-Palestinian "peace" process nine months ago, there has been persistence by the U.
S.
president, who saw an opportunity for a legacy if he could find success in this area.
But then, several months ago, President Obama handed over the lead on these negotiations to the Quartet, of which the U.
S.
is a member.
He did so for three reasons: 1) his frustration of seeing no progress in Middle East talks (in fact, the talks regressed-from negotiations under the Bush administration to no talks at all in the last two and a half years); 2) his pro-globalistic philosophy, leading to international cooperation on leadership; and 3) the strong interest of Western European nations (led by France) to be involved in accomplishing an historic Middle East treaty with Israel.
Western European nations were excited about this opportunity and began to push for restarting the peace talks.
This led to the recent round of pre-talks, in which the Quartet sought to arrive at a plan for getting Israel and the Palestinians to the table for the first time in two and a half years.
However, the latest Quartet attempt at restarting the Middle East talks was a last-ditch effort.
That means that this failure signals the end of the focus on the Israeli-Palestinian talks.
Thus, Russia ended this approach by preventing the demand of Palestinian leadership to recognize the right of Israel to exist.
But that end potentially signals a new beginning.
Based on the alignment of a number of factors with Bible prophecy (such as the global focus on the nation of Israel, the world's focus on a regional treaty with the Jewish nation, and the focus of world leaders on "peace and security" [as per 1 Thessalonians 5:3]), it will likely be the beginning of the movement toward the end-times treaty.
This end-times treaty is the Bible's prophesied seven-year treaty with Israel, co-signed by ten leaders of other nations.
It is what starts the clock ticking on the final seven years leading to the return of Christ to establish God's kingdom upon the earth.
It will be the next, and the last, treaty signed by Israel, since it will appear to provide the "peace and security" for which Israel has been seeking.
Because there is Biblical evidence that European leaders (along with Arab leaders) will be co-signers of this treaty, at a point in time, Europe will abandon Palestinian involvement in a treaty with Israel.
(This is because the Bible suggests that the Palestinians will not be signatories of this treaty.
) In fact, with Russia's latest impediment, it is possible that European leaders may already be seeing the necessity for a new peace track.
One way or another, it appears that God is using Russia to move Europe and the Middle East toward end-times alignment.
Thus, it appears that God raised up Vladimir Putin to provide a resurgence of power to Russia in order to give redirection to the Middle East peace process.
Though this may be Russia's only contribution to end-times Bible prophecy, it is an important one.
(While a number of Bible prophecy buffs and teachers view Russia in the predicted future invasions of Israel presented in Ezekiel 38 and 39, the Biblical-grammatical-historical and contextual evidence suggest otherwise.
) But there is irony in this contribution.
While Russia intends to give help to the Palestinians in this gesture, with no intent to give aid of any kind to Israel, God will use it to bring about Israel's salvation.
Since it will be during the seven-year era, begun by the end-times treaty, that Jews in the land of Israel will be reached by the gospel of Christ, in a very real way, God is using Russia to bring about eternal salvation for Israel.
How ironic! But that is the way God often works.
Therefore, based on what we now know from Bible prophecy, we may be witnesses to God using Russia to give new direction to the Middle East peace process.
If so, we are seeing the alignment of end-times fulfillment before our very eyes, which means we are edging ever closer to the return of Christ.
So, keep looking up!
