    Expanded Memory

    • Equipped with 288MB of RAM and 512 of ROM, the HTC Touch Diamond2, also known as the HTC Pure, supports larger amounts of expanded memory offered by microSD memory cards. MicroSD cards come in a variety of capacities, including 2GB, 4GB and 16GB, and are available from most any electronics retailer, such as Best Buy or Staples. To insert a microSD card, you must turn off the device, remove its back cover and locate the microSD card slot.

    Phone Book

    • Even without a microSD card inserted, the HTC Touch Diamond2 supports a virtually unlimited number of contacts with multiple phone numbers, ringtones and photo IDs. With ringtone ID, you can assign a stock or custom ringtone to each contact that will sound whenever that person calls you. Photo ID allows you to add a photo to each contact that will appear whenever that person calls you or you call them.

    USB vs. microSD

    • If you want to view images or videos stored on the HTC Touch Diamond2's installed microSD memory card, you must first make sure the phone is not mounted as a USB storage device. This is done by opening the Notifications panel on the phone and touching and dragging the status bar down. Tap on "Turn off USB storage" and then "Turn off" on the Notifications panel. If you want the microSD card to serve as a USB storage device, connect the phone to a personal computer with a USB cable, open the Notifications panel, choose "USB connected," and then click "Mount."

    Miscellaneous

    • The HTC Touch Diamond2 does not allow you to save applications to the installed microSD memory card. The inserted microSD card is designed to support added content, such as photos, video and music. As you near the phone's and microSD memory card capacities, you may experience decreases in processing speeds and occasional malfunctions, such as unexpected application closures and system freeze-ups. To preserve the phone's memory, it is a good idea to periodically check the phone's content for files or applications you no longer want or need and deleting them.
