    • 1). Contact the customer service line for the CDMA phone. Tell them the intention to put a different SIM card into the phone. They will look up that phone's IMEI number, a number that identifies the given phone like a license plate does a car. Depending on the conditions of the contract entered with this network they may charge for this information.

    • 2). Remove the protective casings over the batteries on each phone. Near the battery housing in each will be a smaller slot with a small chip in it. This is each phone's SIM card. Remove the SIM card from the GSM phone and put it into the CDMA phone.

    • 3). Restart the CDMA device. It will detect the switch in SIM cards and the new wireless network. A prompt will appear on the screen asking for permission to move forward. Grant this permission by entering the phone's IMEI number on the keypad. After the phone accepts the code it will begin using the new SIM card and that card's wireless network.
