- 1). Press the "NumLock" button on your computer; it's located on the top left-hand side of the numeric keypad. If you are using a laptop, press the "Fn" key, and hold it down while you press the "NumLk" key. The "Fn" key is usually located near the bottom left-hand corner of the keyboard, and the letters are blue instead of white. The "NumLk" key is usually located in the top right-hand side of the keyboard, and the letters are blue as well.

- 3). Press the "3" key on the numeric keypad if you are using a desktop computer. If you have a laptop, press the key that has a blue "3" on the top right-hand corner. On most laptops, this will be the "L" key. As soon as you release the keys, a ♥ will appear. Don't try pressing the "3" key on the top of the keyboard, because this will not produce a heart. This is true whether you're using a laptop or a desktop.
