How to Transfer Apps From a PC to a Sprint HTC Hero
- 1). Turn on your phone and slide the unlock tab down. Press the "Home" button. Insert the USB cable into both your computer and your phone.
- 2). Slide the notification area down and tap "USB Connected." Tap "Mount." Switch to your computer.
- 3). Click the "Start" button, then click "Computer" or "My Computer." Double-click the SD card drive.
- 4). Copy the APK file from the folder you saved it in -- usually either the computer desktop, the "My Documents" folder or the browser download folder -- to the SD card. When the transfer is finished, remove the USB cable from the phone.
- 5). Press the "Menu" button, then tap "Settings." Tap "Applications." Make sure that the entry for "Unknown sources" is checked. Press the "Home" button again.
- 6). Tap the application drawer and start your file manager. If you don't have a file manager, download it from the Android Market. Popular free managers include ASTRO File Manager, ES File Explorer and OI File Manager.
- 7). Tap "SD Card," then tap the file you transferred in Step 4.
- 8). Tap "Install," then tap "Install" again. Tap "Done." Your third-party app is now installed.
