Each year Christian organizations throughout Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, put on a wealth of activities for the youth of the city to participate in. A number of these organizations provide daily, monthly and special occasion Christian youth activities for the enjoyment of toddlers, children and teenagers in an attempt to deter them from participating in less than admirable endeavors. - A number of Christian churches provide youth groups, Bible studies and many other activities for young men and women in the greater Pittsburgh area. Bellefield Presbyterian Church, Church of the Redeemer, Southminster Presbyterian Church and Mt. Lebanon United Presbyterian are just a few of the churches that offer Christian youth activities to the youngsters of Pittsburgh.
- The Open Door has been providing Crafton Heights, a neighborhood in Pittsburgh's West End, with a safe community center and Christian-based programs since 1987. Closely affiliated with The First United Presbyterian Church of Crafton Heights, the Open Door offers several Christian youth programs and activities including Cross Trainers summer day camp, Friday Night Recreation, a soccer club and Kids Klub throughout the year. These programs are free of charge, but each child must be registered by a legal guardian before participating.
- The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh is a social services agency built on a Christian heritage that provides the youth and children of Pittsburgh with several daytime, weekend and after-school programs. In addition to several sports, fitness and family-wellness programs, the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh offers several community outreach, character building and youth enrichment programs that promote Christian teachings and a healthy mind, body and spirit.
