How to Put Up Bedroom Hammocks
- 1). Find two points in the bedroom approximately 12 feet apart, which will allow the hammock to have the proper dip. Each end of the hammock must be on a different wall, such as straddling a corner, or opposite walls.
- 2). Place a stepladder in the first location and turn on a stud finder. Place the stud finder on the wall 4 feet from the floor and move it from side to side until it lights up, indicating a wall stud location. Mark the area with a pencil.
- 3). Move the stepladder to the other wall and repeat the process to find a wall stud in that location as well.
- 4). Insert a 1/4- or 1/2-inch drill bit into a power drill and create a 1-inch deep hole in each of the pencil marks.
- 5). Insert the threaded end of an eye bolt into each hole and turn it until it is completely secure. You can start turning the bolts by hand and use a pair of pliers to twist them in if they are difficult to turn.
- 6). Insert a metal S hook into the loop in one end of the hammock. Lift the hammock up to one of the eye bolts and insert the other end of the S hook into the loop on the bolt.
- 7). Repeat the process on the opposite end of the hammock to hang it as well.
