    • 1). Lay a sheet of newspaper on a flat surface. Roll the newspaper from one corner to the other to form a tube. Roll the tube into a circle that will fit into the bottom of the Weber charcoal starter. Place the newspaper ring down into the starter.

    • 2). Form a second newspaper ring with another sheet of newspaper. Place the ring down into the starter on top of the first paper ring.

    • 3). Add charcoal to the starter on top of the paper. Fill the starter with charcoal and stack it loosely to allow air to easily circulate.

    • 4). Place the Weber stater on the metal grate of your charcoal grill. Light the newspaper in the bottom of the charcoal starter with a match.

    • 5). Allow the newspaper to burn and ignite the charcoal. Monitor the progress of the charcoal as it heats. Look for the coals to white along the edges, flame to emerge from the top of the chimney and for the coals near the bottom of the chimney to glow orange in color.

    • 6). Put on heat resistant gloves and remove the starter and coals from the metal grate. Remove the grate and pour the coals from the starter into the bottom of the grill in a pile. Place the grate back onto the grill and add your favorite meats and other foods.
