Spelling them incorrectly drops Spider-Man down to the next level. There is time limit, so players must type quickly and accurately. Some words contain flashing letters. These are bonus letters. Spelling words that contain bonus letters earns the player a reward. Rewards include more time, moving up a level or bonus points. Players reaching the top of the building must fill in the missing letters in a random word to defeat Doctor Octopus.

Spider-Man is attempting to rid New York City of an invading evil army. Using the keyboard arrows and space bar, players can make him run, jump and throw webs to freeze his enemies in place. Getting shot by the invaders loses some of Spider-Man's health. Running out of all health loses a life. Losing three lives ends the game.
